FAQ
How does the PIXIMPHCAM compare to the standard PHCAM?
Even though the PIXIM has a higher resolution (690TVL vs 600TVL), both looked equally good – they are surprisingly clear for small cameras.
Why pay more for the PIXIM?
The only area where the PIXIM excelled was with extreme direct light.
Below: From the mobile phone, we took a picture of the security monitor just to show how well PIXIM copes with the light from a T8 fluorescent tube.
The circuitry of the PIXIM allowed the 2 tubes to be clearly identified. The PHCAM has WDR, so it can still identify objects around the light, but the tubes are indistinguishable. Since this application is highly unusual, very low stocks of the PIXIM are kept on hand. They are however available for special buyins. Allow for a 3 month lead time.
Are they are the same size?
Yes, though the PIXIM has a small connecting box, housing additional circuitry.
