Due to a hot summer while in storage, this stock has interacted with the air (or lack of) and a light greasy filmhas developed on the surface of the cable. It seems to soak back into the plastic insulation after being open to the air, but we can’t sell this as new.
Cable function isnot degraded and would still be more than suitable for use in in-wall/ceiling installations where greasy residue won’t affect its use. We do not consider the substance to be any more harmful than the insulation fresh from the factory, butyou may want to use gloves whilst installing.
